Mélanie-Rose Frappier, a 2nd year medical student at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine has been receiving a lot of positive feedback from people within her community and beyond after she wrote and performed an original song titled ‘For The Ones We Love’, a tribute to the importance of staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mélanie-Rose says “it was written in the hopes of reassuring others that even though these past few weeks and months have been difficult and many things have changed in our daily lives, we are all in this together and we are all staying home in isolation to protect the ones we love the most. It is a time in our history where we were asked to sacrifice our daily routines and norms for the greater good of society.”
Recognizing the need to share her voice in a positive and uplifting way during this difficult time and express this through song is inspiring. “This was also my way of giving thanks to the health care professionals and essential workers, courage to those still fighting COVID-19, my prayers to those who have passed away, and my condolences to those who have lost loved ones during this time.” Thank you, Mélanie-Rose for sharing your message!
